1884-5 Edinburgh University Rugby XV Photograph: Approx 18" x 14", original frame and cord, sepia image well preserved and impressively posed, with handwritten notes by the captain to the reverse, along with framers' label, Fletcher's of St Andrews. Skipper was L Gordon Fischer, his side went unbeaten and took Oxford University's 4-year unbeaten record with an away win! Fischer became a doctor in India, Lt Col in WW1 and died in 1947. A terrific old rugby photo with impressive provenance. Excellent
