A Chinese export Mandarin fan, Qing, mid to late 19th century, the finely painted leaf with numerous figures, each with applied painted ivory faces, in fenced buildings and trees within floral borders with eternal knots and scrolls, the lacquered sticks painted with gilt figures within a courtyard beneath butterflies, fans and bats, in a contemporary Canton lacquered presentation box52cm wide when open, 28cm high,

Minor wear and tear commensurate with age, generally in good condition throughout.
