A large mid-Victorian boulle mantel clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with the backplate stamped with the trademark for the Japy Frerers et Cie, the gilt-brass dial with embossed decoration, blued-steel hands and blue Roman numerals on individual enamelled plaques, the waisted case with red tortoiseshell inlaid with engraved brass decoration and with gilt-brass mounts, feet and finial in the form of a cherub, height 44cm.
