A late 18th century Dutch walnut serpentine vitrine, with moulded serpentine top, two barred glazed doors enclosing three fixed shelves over six short drawers on stylised claw and ball feet, W.5ft 11in. D.1ft 4in. H.8ft 5in.
CONDITION: Of a mid to dark brown mahogany tone, faded at the front, more noticeable over the drawers and getting darker as you go up the piece, some where around the original scroll at the centre of the cornice and a hole to the top as if there was once a finial at some point, pin hinged doors in good order with later lock, comes with a key but does not appear to work the lock, the drawers all with later ornate gilt brass handles, a pair of handles was at one time fitted to each drawer and the holes have now been concealed with the ebonised diamonds that are inlaid to the front of the drawers, locks look later and no key, some wear to the feet, both sides of the lower part of the piece have separated at the joints.
