A FINE AND RARE 18TH/19TH CENTURY MEISSEN STYLE AFTER JOHANN JOACHIM KANDLER 1706-1775 CHINOISERIE CABARET SERVICE
Unidentified mark of two underglaze blue crossed swords mark, an unusual hard paste porcelain three piece service, comprising teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl on matching tray, moulded and polychrome enamelled with raised decoration, depicting chinoiserie figures dressed as Mandarin, dignitary and attendants, teapot - green glazed Imperial dragon spout and scrolling handle, finial cover modelled as an Oriental boy seated on a grotesque toad.

Condition: damages, restorations, natural wear, damages to corner tray, sugar basin chipped, some small chips and firing hairlines inside

Literature Godden's Guide to European Porcelain, some rare pieces of Oriental taste were made for Frederick Augustus II, Circa 1725 - 1730 or as prestige gifts from the Kings or members of Royal Aristocracy at that time.
