Brighton Chair Pier Interest - an original ferrule from the Royal Suspension Chain Pier built in Brighton, 1823. The ferrule end-cap featuring remains of some of the copper cable that adorned the pier. Supplied with an envelope, written later, which reads 'Part of the old suspension bridge... before dismantled and blown down 1896.' Measures approx: 5cm diameter. 

The Royal Suspension Chain Pier was the first major pier built in Brighton, England. Opened on 25 November 1823, it was destroyed during a storm on 4 December 1896
