A worksplate, BUILT BY (AND ON LOAN TO) LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY Co 1944 DONCASTER No 1962, from a Stanier type 8F 2-8-0 No 8515 built to Railway Executive Committee order and loaned new to the LNER from June 1944 until January 1947 as their Class O6, becoming BR 48515. It spent most of its BR days at Staveley Barrow Hill finishing its days at Heaton Mersey from where it was withdrawn in January 1966 and sold for scrap to Wards at Beighton, Sheffield. Cast iron, 13½"x7¾", repainted, the words in brackets erased. (Postage Band: C)
