Lake Manitoba. 1915 Covers and cards comprising P.O.W envelope to London franked 1d, cancelled at Gosport, with violet oval "PRISONERS OF WAR / PORTSMOUTH / HANTS / 5 FEB 1915 / H.M.T "LAKE MANITOBA""; picture postcard from Switzerland to a P.O.W with red oval "PRISONERS OF WAR / RYDE, I.O.W / 19 MAR. 1915 / H.M.T. "LAKE MANITOBA"", the stamp removed by the censor and overstruck by red "C.G.H / CENSOR"; and stampless P.O.W envelopes with Post Free P.C cachets (4). Also cards of the ship (4), two posted whilst in use as a troopship. A good lot, the named cachets scarce. (6+).
