AIRMAILS - TWO EARLY PIONEER COVERS: 22 Dec. 1921 large env. from Birtle to Port Blandford with KGV 1c + 3c, redirected to Halifax and a 5c (pair) + 20c added & tied by violet boxed "FIRST/AIRMAIL/HALIFAX/TO/ST JOHN'S/JANUARY/1922" hs. The mail was never sent by air as the aircraft was badly damaged in an accident prior to departure. Also 1 Oct. 1924 special env. carried on the 1st flight from Estevan to Winnipeg bearing KGV 1c strip of three tied by a fine oval "VIA AEROPLANE/ESTEVAN, SASK" ds. Pilot signed (E A Alton).
