A German WWII Luftwaffe Type B Observers Watch or Beobachtungsuhr (B-Uhr), signed Laco, 22 Steine, circa 1945, manual wind, nickel case, the radium luminous black dial with Arabic minute numerals and batons with arrow at 12 o'clock, a central inner ring with Arabic numerals, sweeping centre seconds, ordinance number FL23883 stamped to the side, movement number H5518 to back cover and 05518 to the movement, inside caseback marked 'Beobachtungsuhr Bauart: Laco-Durowe, Gerat Nr. 127-560B-1, Werk-Nr. 5518, Anforderz. FL23883, Montage: Wempe', dial 50mm, 63mm across crown, 26mm between lugs, 157.4g, with a black hand-stitched leather pouch, 8.5 by 8.5cm.
Notes: Not in working condition - balance spring damaged, but winds and sets well.
Provenance: Owned by a member of a WWII communications unit who collected various items throughout the his time in Europe through the war, thence by decent.
