A Fatimid Glazed Ceramic King Chess Piece, Possibly 10th–12th Century.
A Fatimid chess piece modelled in ceramic with a turquoise and cobalt blue glaze, featuring a distinctly domed form rising to a prominent finial-like top, suggesting high rank. The body is incised with vertical panel-like elements reminiscent of architectural forms, possibly indicating the piece’s symbolic role. The striking dome and elevated design suggest this could represent the king.
