A mid 18c eight day longcase clock, the 31cm sq. brass dial signed William Joyce, Cockshutt and having a matted centre, ringed winding holes and urn spandrels. The chapter ring has Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers and the dial has a seconds ring and date aperture. The movement has four ringed pillars and is rack striking on a bell. It is contained in an oak and walnut crossbanded case with square topped hood surmounted by a caddy with three flambe finials. Above the dial is a sound fret and plain columns are attached to the hood door. The rectangular trunk door has walnut edge crossbanding and a central inlay and the base has inlays to the top corners and a cut out plinth. The clock stands 203cm tall overall.

The movement seems complete and in reasonable condition. the hands have been replaced and the chapter ring has had its silvering restored. The base of the case has been cut down at some time and the sound fret and finials above the dial have suffered some damage.
