On the instructions of the family: Two Pilot's Flying Log Books (Form 414) as issued to Lieutenant Commander Edmund William Lockwood RN (known as Ted), the first Log Book (P/O) 8th March - May 5th 1949, the second, August 17th 1951 - March 10th 1955, with his MID certificate 'Lieutenant (A) Edmund William Lockwood RN, HMS Eagle, London Gazette on 11th September 1940' and his three draw brass telescope, bound in leather
Edmund Lockwood was involved in attacks on Tobruk Harbour and on September 1st in his Swordfish, flying with F/LT Kite and LA Simpson failed to return, after eight days in their dinghy they made land near Tobruk and they were all taken prisoner by the Italians (POW 8-9-40 to April 1945), in August 1945, he went on a refresher course, with a table cigarette box, the lid with an oval silver plaque, initialled RCB, the interior with an ivorine plaque AERO-ART PRODUCT GUARANTEED TO BE MADE FROM BRITISH AIRCRAFT PROPELLERS OF THE WAR PERIOD 1914-1918, 20 cm wide (5)

The earlier log book, the binding is in poor condition, the second log book is much better, in the second log book in 1954 there is a page stuck in where it notes 'previous log books lost on return from Australia'
