A LATE VICTORIAN SILVER TWIN HANDLED TROPHY CUP, of circular form, cast scrolling handles, the cup with central girdle, on a short pedestal to a stepped circular foot, engraved with presentation inscription 'ROBIN HOOD RIFLES BATTALION PRIZE 1899, PRESENTED BY THE MAYOR OF NOTTINGHAM ALD. A. PYATT, WON BY SERGEANT H.W. DAVIS', makers James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield 1899, height 16cm, approximate weight 35.1ozt, 1092 grams (condition: sits level on a flat surface, oval mark to interior where the bottom section of a handle has pushed in, pedestal has pushed up into base of cup, some dents, dints and surface scratches)
