Great Britain: South Sea Company, 1728, handwritten instruction to pay dividends on £1400 stock, addressed to Charles Lockyer, Chief Accountant of the company, signed by Uxbridge and Guilford as joint holders of the stock. Henry Paget, 1st earl of Uxbridge, 1663-1743, Privy Councillor and Francis North, 2nd Baron Guilford, 1673-1729, Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Privy Councillor. Despite the size of the South sea Company and the number of transaction that must have taken place during this period, documents are extremely scarce. Small tear at right edge.
