KEVII Royal Victorian Medal (Bronze) un-named as issued, 1902 Africa GSM Somaliland 1902-04 clasp to W.H. Ryder P.O. 1 Cl H.M.S. Fox, 1915 NGSM Persian Gulf 1909-1914 clasp to 181025 W.H. Ryder P.O. H.M.S. Fox, 1914-15 Star trio to Gnr W.H. Ryder R.N. and KEVII Royal Navy LSGC to 181025 W.H. Ryder P.O. H.M.S. Racer odd contact marks, generally nearly very fine or better, swing mounted as worn. With a swing mounted miniature set of 9 with these 7 (Star is 1914) plus WW2 Defence Medal and Russian silver gilt Order of St Stanislaus. All within a fitted display case with removal back.
With some copied research from his commissioning as Gunner 26/5/10. William Henry Ryder was mentioned in despatches published in London Gazette on 1st January 1946 while working as a Temporary Warrant Shipwright, Royal Navy.
Posted to Britannia 29/10/10 to 5/2/12, WW1 served on Empress of Russia to 18/9/15, Lama to 15/6/17, Monitor M-26 off Belgian coast 22/3/18 to 2/2/19 and North Russia (River Divina Exped Force) Apr-Oct 1919, 1920-23 served with N.I.A.C.C. in Germany (Konigsberg).
With photo album (200+) mainly 1919-22 including River Divina Exped Force, Archangel, destruction of German guns and war material Pillau, Cuxhaven & Konigsberg etc, some family. With a second album (160+) all of a cruise by S.S. Moldavia in the Mediterranean in 1936 by a Masonic group including Ryder. I have been unable to confirm the MVO Medal and Russian award.
