A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY PAIR TO THE RIFLE CORPS. A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 57636 Pte W.H. ANDERSON KR RIF C. William Henry Anderson was born in Wandsworth, a resident of Wimbeldon who enlisted at Mill Hill, he served with the second battalion of the King's Royal Rifle Corps. He died of wounds received on the 18th October 1918, presumably during the battle of the Selle as part of the final advance. He is commemorated at the Premont British Cemetery south of Cambrai.
