POSTAL HISTORY CHINA, 1903 mixed franking 1c postal stationery card addressed to Germany, uprated to 5c with Chinese issues including '2 cents' on 3 cent Revenue stamp (a surcharged issue for postal use, SG 93, cat £350). Posted at Ling-Shan-Wei on the Shandong peninsular and has the indigenous 'tombstone' cancellation and routed through the German post office at Tsingtau, Kiautschou. A 5c Kiautschou stamp was then affixed for the onward carriage to Germany. Superb & rare!
