A rare 1796 Light Cavalry type officer's sword of the Cinque Ports Light Dragoons, blade 29" etched with crown over "GR", trophies of drums, etc, and on the back edge "J J Runkel, Solingen", steel hilt with wire bound leather covered grip, in its tooled leather scabbard with steel mounts, the locket engraved with crowned "GR" and "CINQUE PORTS LIGHT DRAGOONS", and on the other side "Knubley & Co, No 7 Charing Cross, London". Generally GC (light age wear overall, the leather surface flakey) £800-1200
