A WWI GERMAN PRESENTATION BAYONET with a "bird's head" style pommel and chequered grips, the blade spine bears etched maker's name "Alexander Coppel, Solingen". The obverse of the blade bears an etched presentation inscription: "Gefreiter Wilhelm Rupke, 3./R.74" the reverse inscribed: "Fur Erinnerung an tapferes Aushalten auf Hohe 304 am 20 August 1917" in steel scabbard (40.5cm overall)
