A half length portrait miniature depicting a young lady in white empire line dress with yellow shawl,
Watercolour on ivory,
Unsigned,
Oval framed with translucent blue back,
The miniature 7.5cm x 6.3cm, the frame 8.4cm x 7.3cm overall (at fault)

More Information

The ivory panel shows a concave bowing across the surface and a crack to the right hand side, with a further 3mm perpendicular crack at the bottom on the right side of the long crack. The paint surface appears to be in good condition with the colours clean and reasonably bright, although they may have faded somewhat over time. The frame shows wear and tarnishing commensurate with age. The blue back panel shows surface wear commensurate with age.
