A line linking the Chester and Birkenhead Railway with the Manchester and Birmingham Railway. The company absorbed the Birkenhead, Manchester and Cheshire Junction, and the Chester and Birkenhead Railways in 1847. In 1859 it was re-named the Birkenhead Railway, and was quickly acquired by the London and North Western, and the Great Western companies. EF.
