FRANCE - EARLY INGOING 80c RED COVER SENT VIA G.B. WITH CANCELLED "P.P." & SYDNEY C.D.S.; Neat 29 Aug. 1859 env. (minor dusting) to Capt. de Cintre, Commander of the "Thisbe, Nouvelle Caledonie" endorsed "Voie d'Angleterre" with 1854-61 Napoleon 80c Red (touched to wide margins) tied by fine St. Jean de Brevelay "3888" dotted diamond with matching cds alongside, but also having a v. fine red boxed "P.P." cancelled and endorsed "Annule Proulere(?)" and replaced by red boxed "PD" which is endorsed "Batiment de commerce" (merchant ship); there is a very fine red "LONDON/PAID" cds on the front and a very fine "SYDNEY/N.S.W." backstamp (16 Nov.).
