J. Richardson, Bubwith, an early 19th century oak and mahogany 8 day longcase clock, the painted dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the movement with cast iron false plate by F? & MORE, striking on a bell, key, broken pendulum, 2 x weights, 225cm.
The Richardson family of clockmakers started with John Richardson, d.1805, had two sons, John and William Richardson. Both were watchmakers, William's (d.1840) son was John Richardson, the shop was run by Trustees when William, until his son, came of age.
