9th Queens Royal Lancers Victorian post 1880 Officer's lance cap plate. A fine and scarce example. Triangular, rayed, rich fire gilt plate mounted with gilt Royal Arms bearing two oval shields, on the left that of the Royal Arms; on the right, that of Queen Adelaide. Below the Arms, in silver, the cypher of Queen Adelaide, reversed and intertwined. Below a gilt scroll inscribed ROYAL LANCERS, to the left a spray of laurel with six honour scrolls, the last being KANDAHAR; to the right, another bearing six further honours, the last being AFGHANISTAN.
