he Ferrari F355 (Type F129) was built Ferrari from May 1994 to 1999. It was based on the 348, which had been competing against the Nissan NSX. It therefore addressed several issues in its mid-engined, rear wheel drive, V8-powered two-seat design.
There was significantly improved performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments.
The engine size was not a huge increase, from 3.4 to 3.5, but it also introduced a 5-valve cylinder head which increased the power, for the first time, to achieve more than a 100 hp per litre displacement at 375hp. Such was the pride in this achievement Ferrari changed the model name to include a second 5 in the model title, instead of an 8 to show the number of cylinders than most Ferrari V8s had.
The engine now uses titanium alloy components, has a compression ratio of 11:1 and this later model has the more reliable Bosch Motronic M5.2 engine management control.
Engine lubrication is via a dry-sump oiling system, allowing a lower centre of gravity. This car has had the oil pump and chain tensioner replaced.
The F355’s handling is much improved with power steering and active suspension with options of "Comfort" and "Sport" settings.
An additional innovation was the aerodynamic design. Ferrari had done over 1,300 hours of wind tunnel analysis. The car incorporates a Nolder profile on the upper portion of the tail, and a fairing on the underbody that generates downforce when the car is at speed.

Total production was 11,273 cars with only 1,384 right hand drive models and only 496 RHD Berlinettas sent to the UK.

The vendor has owned this F355 GTB since 2009 and it has given faultless service during some 30,000 miles of motoring. Its condition is excellent in all respects and has had no expense spared on servicing as shown in its full and extremely comprehensive service history. It has all original purchase and owners manuals as well as stamped service booklet and leather cover. Unusually it has all 3 key fobs and a spare ignition and glove box key.
It comes with a fresh MOT and new clutch, Hills thrust bearing and new flywheel, the flywheel voith system has been regreased and it has had a full engine out service including new cambelts and hills bearings and new alternator and bearing.
The air-con works perfectly. The car's interior is upholstered with Dark Blue Connolly Leather and is in great condition, none of the classic “sticky parts” on the controls or air vents. The dashboard has been newly refurbished in original black leather.
The outside has had paint chips done and now looks perfect as well as newly refurbished wheels and great condition with Michelin sport tyres.
