A LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY BAVARIAN DIPLOMAT's SWORD. With an 83cm double edged pointed blade marked with the Bavarian national motto 'In Treue Fest' amongst foliage and for 'Jos. Vierburg Munchen', the shell guard decorated with a crown above crossed leaves, with shagreen grip with bronze mounts with 'red' tone, stamped number '37'with domed flat topped pommel. With leather scabbard with matching mounts. 96cm overall length. *CR Scabbard with break to leather and sword does not descend to the end of the scabbard, light pitting in places.
