A rare European miniature mechanical music model of a square grand piano, 19th century. Constructed in rosewood with a functioning fold board, lid and music rack and keys carved in ivory and ebonised wood. Internal Swiss Lador of Saint Croix movement with manual winder incorporated to the underside. 16 cm height, 31.3 cm width, 14.5 cm depth.
Condition report: Some wear with age. Exterior in relatively good condition. Replaced hinges to the folding cover in need of basic repair work along with the placement of the movement with screws. There is a split to the wood present in one hinged section and small losses to the internal veneer. Although the movement appears to function, Bentley’s cannot guarantee the full working order of the musical instrument. Please also note that a self declaration has been made in relation to the ivory content. Submission reference number: VJ2VJLB5. Registration expires when the owner of the item changes.
