Complete set of the Encyclopaedia Britannica 11th Edition soft leather bound 1910 including index.
The 11th edition is important as a historical document and for the significant leap forward in editorial quality.
It was the first encyclopaedia that solicited articles from actual leaders in their fields including scientists and political figures rather than just being written by clerks and journalists. These included: Prince Kropotkin; Havelock Ellis; Bertrand Russel; Swinburne; Rutherford.
It was significantly the first edition of the Britannica that credited some women contributors. Includes a bespoke wooden bookcase.
