A pair of Italian blue and white maiolica albarellos, Savona, late 17th century, the first painted with the title De Muccillag:~ to a banner, with crest and recumbent figure, houses and a cherub, the second with the title Hura * Comp ~, a cherub holding a jar, a figure in 17th century dress, a galleon ship and a bird, each with a shield mark to the base, 21cm high, glaze losses, latter chipped
De Muccillag albarello has typical glaze losses to the rim and around the foot with some deeper nibbles to the foot.
The ‘Hura * Comp albarello has a chip and associated hairline cracks to the rim summer, some large glaze losses to the shoulder and some glaze losses and deeper chips around the foot.
