The Porsche 944 is a sports car built by Porsche from 1982 to 1991. A front-engined, rear-wheel drive mid-level model based on the 924 platform, the 944 was available in coupé or cabriolet body styles, with either naturally aspirated or turbocharged engines.
Intended to last into the 1990s, major revisions planned for a 944 "S3" model were eventually combined into the 968, which became its replacement. Over 163,000 944s were produced, making it the most successful car line in Porsche history until the introductions of the Boxster and 997 Carrera.
This example was originally supplied by Dick Lovett specialist cars of Marlborough, and has been in the present ownership since April 1993. Presented in black, the bodywork is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition. The underside of the vehicle is said be sound, although it is thought that the sills have been changed at sometime to a very high spec. There is no obvious sign of rust to the exterior.
The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears to the upholstery, all dials and switches function as they should, as does the rare sunroof. The mileage shows at 22,446 but as there is only 5 digits, it is believed to be 122,446. The current MOT is to 17th October 2018 and had no advisories. The vehicle starts, ticks over and drives and all gears are smooth.
The car comes with original book pack including the original service book that is stamped to 1995 with further comprehensive history to date, supported with bills and invoices. All in all a excellent example of the 944.
