American Civil War Period Army NCO Sword. An example of the 1840 pattern with single edge 32 inch fullered blade. The forte with the date stamp of 1864 US. The hilt with brass single bar guard, shell guard and grip, this surmounted by a ball pommel. Housed in leather and brass mounted scabbard. Leather to scabbard with split and stitching faults.
