A .577" Enfield pattern 1853 percussion rifle, the breech having ordnance proofs and government sale marks, the lock marked with crown over "VR" and "1856 Tower", walnut fullstock with brass mounts and three barrel bands secured by screws, the butt bearing worn "Tower London 1860" War Office stamp and Government sale mark, the butt plate tang engraved "V/Hs.1/63". GWO & C (lock and barrel moderately pitted overall), with a later leather sling. £320-400
