A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol, 13½” overall, swamped barrel 8” with 1” bore at the muzzle, the breech with London proofs and maker’s initials “WH” (William Henshaw); mid 18th century lock with swan neck cock and unbridled frizzen, engraved at a later date “W M Henshaw”; plain beech fullstock with late 18th century brass trigger guard engraved with flower head in panel and with acorn finial. GWO & C Probably made up in the 19th century from earlier parts.
