Medal roll 30 September 1901 of 1st Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment records award of medal and clasps as above. 1st battalion deployed to South Africa in 1899, fighting throughout the war, including the Relief of Ladysmith, at the end of the war in 1902 the battalion was sent to India.
