An original signed world premiere programme for The Colditz Story at the Gaumont Theatre, Haymarket 27th January 1955 in the presence of HRH The Duchess of Gloucester. Signed on the inside "Yours Sincerely John Mills" in blue pen, and includes a letter to Michael Booker from Kensington Palace dated December 6th 1978, the letter reads;
"Dear Mr Booker,
Princess Alice Duchess of Gloucester has asked me to thank you very much for your nice letter and to tell you how sorry she is that she can not sign your programme for the film "The Colditz Story".
This is a rule that members of the Royal Family can only sign autographs for people who are personally known to them.
Her Royal Highness is sorry to have to disappoint you in this way when you have done such wonderful work to help the P.O.W's and S.P.Q.F.Q.
Princess Alice sends her best wishes.
