The Edge (U2) - advert used 1997 Fender Limited Edition American Vintage '52 Reissue Telecaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 28930, copper metallic finish, within tweed Fender hard case and associated tags

*Sold with a letter of provenance from Vintage & Rare Guitars, London, dated 30th August 2005 stating that this guitar was rented out by the shop to be used by The Edge on the 2004 Apple iPod 'Vertigo' commercial. The letter also states that the guitar went out in pristine condition but, when it was returned, it had been heavily scratched above the bridge. Also sold with a Vintage & Rare sales receipt dated 28th August 2005.

U2’s song, Vertigo, was launched in a television commercial for the iPod U2 Special Edition at the time of Apple’s October 2004 press conference. Continuing in the line of earlier silhouetted dancers, U2 belt out their song in what almost could be called a music video. The ad features members of the band in near silhouette performing their song with dancers in full silhouette. Bono carries the white iPod. The microphone and guitars are connected to their amps with white leads.
