A fine pair of mid 19th century 42 bore Scottish all metal percussion belt pistols by Jamieson, Aberdeen, 10½" overall, mirror blued barrels 6¼", the octagonal breeches and muzzles with silver inlaid scrolls, the round centre sections with fine scroll engraving, the signed locks and hammers engraved with scrolls and borders, the silver plated stocks engraved overall with scrolls, borders, escutcheon with crest, motto and initials "J.F.L" and with grotesque mask butt caps and foliate embossed trigger guards, with plain blued steel belt hooks and ramrods. VGWO&C (very small patch of rust to one belt hook and one muzzle), in a fine quality close fitted rosewood (?) case with German silver escutcheon and mounts, containing steel pincer mould, nipple key, turnscrew, embossed copper flask, and key to the case. A fine set. Note: the crest and initials are those of the Scottish Leith family. £4500-7000
