LOT UPDATED - Medals (2) of 6755 (3512621) Private James Clarke of the Manchester Regiment. Allied Victory Medal 1914-1918, to be sold with GV General Service Medal 1918-1962 with clasp 'Iraq', the latter showing evidence of having been renamed.
Declared service in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers under the alias Peter Clarke (103238). Landed in France on 27th October 1914 with the 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment. Admitted in to the 8th Casualty Clearing Station at Bailleul on 27th April 1915 with gunshot wounds. Discharged 17th March 1924.
