A very beautiful, vintage, hardback, edition of ''Gone With The Wind'' by Margaret Mitchell. Published in November 1936 ( First year of issue )by The Macmillan Company. Complete with an original dustjacket and vintage gift box. Most likely bought as a Christmas gift.
Margaret Mitchell only wrote one novel in her life, After receiving critically acclaim for her novel Margaret Mitchell (48) was tragically killed on August 1949 as she crossed the road going to a movie theatre, she was struck by a speeding car, she suffered extensive injuries inc a skull fracture and tragically died in hospital 5 days later.
The novel was made in to one of the most acclaimed movies of all time and won 10 academy awards. You know it was memorable as there is still and new memes form the dialogue even today 83 years after the movie was released.
