A Chinese Lapis Lazuli carving of Guanyin. The figure of Guanyin hand-carved in China during the late 1800s from lapis lazuli. Detailing to features, her robe & headdress, along with the two carved lotus flowers she holds in her hands. The lapis is untreated with brilliant blue colour & inclusions of olive and white, on a custom rosewood stand inlaid with gilded silver. Measures approx. 8.8cm with stand, 7.4cm without.
Provenance: From the Park Avenue estate of the world-renowned collector Amiel Brown of New York City.
