£300 - £350
A Victorian silver three-piece bachelor's tea service by Daniel & Charles Houle, London 1871 and 1872, comprising teapot, cream jug and twin-handled sugar, repoussé with gadrooning and flowering foliate sprays, the quatrefoil cartouche to each engraved with crest. (3) Teapot approx. 19cm handle to spout, 19.7 troy ounces gross
Good: Overall in good condition but possibly some part or all of the lot has slight wear/damage/fading inline with the age of this lot.
All three pieces stand upright, very minor rocking to base of cream jug but teapot and sugar stand square, no wobbles. Teapot cover hinge with slight play but sturdy. Marks clear and well struck throughout. Crest lightly rubbed to teapot, clearer to other two pieces. Minor ding to front of cream jug, light surface scratches throughout commensurate with age and use.
