A LARGE CASED LAUDATORY MEDAL FOR LUDWIG MOND. A large bronze medal commemorating the 70th birthday of Ludwig Mond, bearded bust l. within an inscription 'Dr. Ludwig Mond FRS ANNO MDCCCCVIII', reverse with a description of the academic career of Ludwig Mond the 1st Baron Melchett (1839-1909), a successful academic, chemist and manufacturer who founded the Mond Nickel Company in 1900. The medal cast by E.Lanteri. (Eimer 1911), 11.5cm wide. In an Octagonal leather covered case with twin clasps and gilt border. *CR: Exterior of case distressed, medal largely as issued. *BP 22.5% (18.75% plus VAT) plus a lot fee of £8 inc. VAT on each lot.
