A carved opal and diamond brooch, circa 1900, probably by Wilhelm Schmidt (1845-1938), the carved opal with matrix backing depicting the Greek goddess Nike, five bezel set Old European cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.40 carats, crafted in yellow and white metal, unmarked, length 35mm, gross weight 6.6g.

Condition - good, minor wear only, appears damage repair free. Metal not tested, in our opinion it's likely gold and silver, yellow colour on opal appears to be impurities in the opal.
