1422-1430 King Henry VI Annulet Issue silver Groat, struck at Calais, annulets by neck (S 1837). Obverse: crowned facing bust within a tressure of arcs, annulets on either side of his neck, pierced cross mintmark and legend that reads 'hЄnRIC ’x DI ’x GRΛ ’x RЄX x AnGL ’x Z ’x FRΛnC'. Reverse: long cross with three pellets in each of the four internal angles, 'VILLA xx CALISIE *' in the middle ring and cross pattée mintmark before 'POSVI * DEVM xx ADIVTORE' MEVM' in the outer legend. Weight: 3.63g. Diameter: 26.3mm. Grade: gF - good Fine, attractively toned with a small iron stain.
