Leicestershire Yeomanry Cavalry post 1844 Victorian Officer sabretache with sword belt.
A rare black leather undress example, the face with double border of silver russia braid with wavy line between; to the centre, Russia LYC cypher surmounted by a silvered metal Crown, below a tripart white metal scroll inscribed PRINCE ALBERTS OWN. Complete with wallet and three “D” shaped suspension rings retaining straps with double lion’s mask buckles. Section of Russia absent on lower outer border, flap securing tongue absent otherwise generally GC ... companion black patent leather sword belt with double silver wavy lines, snake clasp with matching sword and sabretache slings (billets absent). (2 items) The Regiment gained the title Prince Albert’s Own on 20th February 1844.
