H.R.H. Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood (1897-1965, only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary): Letter dated March 16th 1937, addressed to Gerald Lascelles: 'Grannie [Queen Mary] has sent you some very nice links as a remembrance for having carried her train at Uncle Bertie's Coronation [King George VI]. I will take care of these for you. Will you please write to Grannie to thank her very much...' . Along with another letter dated March 1936, on Buckingham Palace headed paper, includes '...Grannie and I lunched with Uncle Harry and Aunt Alice at the Royal Pavilion Aldershot. We walked in the grounds and Uncle Harry took me to see his horses...I walk with Grannie in the garden most days. Yesterday morning I went with her to Marlborough House where Grannie is going to live, the house is being done up...'. Also dated October 19th 1937, 'Uncle Bertie and Aunt Elizabeth arrive in York this afternoon and come here this evening' [King George VI and the Queen Mother].
