Seven 19th century miser’s purses, the first crocheted in lemon with clear beads, linked with red strings, fitted with tiered fringing, when folded the purse has the appearance of two bags; a small leather coin purse with a metal frame at each end, creating separate compartments but lined in the middle; a relatively plain purse with a decorative bobble at each end; a md green purse with cut steel beads in a zig-zag design, with decorative cut steel to each end; a plain brown example, the work being in the raised pattern to the two sections; a dark green and cream purse extensively embellished with cut steel beads, furnished with two silver metal bands, the rounded end with a looped tassel; and a mid-green example, the coin sections worked in cut steel beads in a paisley boteh design, both ends with cut steel fringing (7)
