Large Jerome Massier (Vallauris) Art Nouveau majolica jardiniere on stand, circa 1900, impressed Jerome Massier Fils, Vallauris marks, painted with purple and yellow iris on a pale purple and white cloud pattern ground, the globular jardiniere with putti handles, pierced to base, on cylindrical stand (minor restoration),132 cm high
Of good decorative appearance overall. The stand - with minor restored chips and areas of retouching to glaze flaking at edge of upper rim, very small bruise to glaze at foot with associated glaze crack, small areas of retoucing to purple glaze flaking to lower part of stand/footrim. Some minor hairline cracks to underside of base. The jardiniere - each of the putto supports with some glaze chipping, mainly to wings, with old areas of in-filling and retouching, very minor areas of in-filling and restoration to upper and lower rims. Minor crazing and cracking to glaze.
