A rare and early pair of Derby lobed triform globular vases, moulded in high relief with rocaille and acanthus-capped C-scrolls in the Rococo silver taste, enclosing three shaped reserves on each vase painted with domestic fowl and country flowers in bloom, flanked by profusions of ribbon-tied flowers in tones of yellow, pink, blue, green and orange, each pedestal with further scattered foliage, 13cm high, one base inscribed 6, c.1756 For a similar example see: Barrett & Thorpe, Derby Porcelain 1750-1848, 1971, pages 15 & 21 and plate 29.
